What’s it’s like to join the Marshfield Male Voice Choir?
Meets every Monday 7.30-9.30pm, except during a summer break
Place: Currently St Mary's Church, Marshfield, but sometimes in The Hebron Chapel, High Street Marshfield
No audition – sing in whatever section suits you: bass, baritone, second tenor, and top tenor (who usually sing the tune!). Huge variety of competence.
How many people: typically 15-20 each week turn up – members are away on work, on holiday, etc
Songs: wide variety, such as:
Golden Wheat, Lydia the Tattooed Lady, One More River, Vicar of Dibley, Wade in the Water, Bread of Heaven, One More River, You Raise Me Up, Bring Him Home, Do You Hear the People Sing, I Dreamed a Dream, A Little Mozart, Lydia the Tattooed Lady, Burning Bridges, All Through the Night, I Vow To Thee My Country, Eli Jenkins Prayer, Softly As I Leave You, The Rose, Panis Angelicus, Siyahamba, Kaloi Ya Elijah, American Trilogy
Costs £3 each time attend, as a contribution to music, hall, etc
Concerts: usually about three a year, not compulsory to attend, but do provide a focus
Music sheets are supplied
Some meet in the pub after for a drink and natter
